Besides sugar and alcohol, Zillo Lorenzetti makes animal feed and food additives for human consumption - all derived from sugar cane. Nothing goes to waste. Much of the cane by product goes to making fertilizer for the cane fields.
Zillo Lorenzetti, the owner of the mill we are touring, has a reputation for treating their employees and the environment the best way they know how. They take great pains in providing a good work environment.
The Barra Grande mill above, is one of the biggest of the
three and sits right on the outskirts of Lencois Paulista.
The Sao Jose mill is close to the city of Sao Jose and
has the largest alcohol production.
This is Usina Quata, the Quata mill, near the township
of Quata in central western state of Sao Paulo.
